Abstract

Use of medicinal plants to cure specific ailments is on old practice and has been documented in
Aurveda, Siddha, Unani and other types of therapies. Telangana State have been highly Medicinal
plants, since times immemorial, have been used in virtually all cultures as a source of medicine, so
in the current century, the exploration of ethno-phytotherapy is attracting global attention. The
survey and study of ethno-phytotherapy is an important clue for new drugs. The paper deals with
survey of some important Ethno medicinal plants used against different ailments by the tribal
people of Narsampet forest division, Warangal district, Telangana State, India. During the survey
45 plant species of angiosperms were enumerated. The Botanical name, Local name, Family and
plant part of used and mode of administration are being presented.
